Understanding Key Solar Suitability Parameters

Each component in the Solar Suitability Dashboard provides clear visual and analytical insights into rooftop solar potential:

  • Solar Energy per Pixel: Shows the average solar radiation received on each rooftop pixel.

  • Suitable Pixel Count: Highlights the number of pixels meeting the defined solar suitability threshold.

  • Solar Energy per Building: Displays the total estimated annual solar energy potential for the building based on suitable pixels.

  • Solar Suitable Zone: Indicates the rooftop area (in square meters) suitable for solar panel installation.

  • Solar Suitability Color Scale: Uses a blue-to-yellow gradient to represent areas of low to high solar suitability.

  • Raster & Buildings Layer: Depicts red polygons for building footprints and a solar radiation overlay in blue-yellow shades for easy interpretation.

These parameters together help visualize and evaluate solar potential, supporting accurate and data-driven solar installation planning.
